Anyone used the bottle of Sealant Cleaner provided by the dealer? On the back of the bottle it says "To maitain vehicle shield protection warranty apply at least twice a year to clean vehicle". Just curious if anyone had actually used their bottle...

Sounds like you have an aftermerket 'paint protection/sealer' from the Toyota dealer? It is not a Toyota product. I think the warranty covers fading, oxidation, environmental damage, bird droping, acid rain, etc. My friend just bought a Ford and the dealer tried to sell something similar to him. Just a way some dealers get more $$ from buyers.

It came with my 4Runner as part of the Distributor Installed Options: Vehicle Shield Package. It is listed on my window sticker. The Vehicle Shield Package contains Lusterizing Sealant, Sound Shield, Sealant Cleaner and Rental Car Assistance. This was not "sold" to me. It was in the glove box when I drove it off the lot.

The bottle has a Toyota Part Number, so it doesnt look aftermarket to me (00020-00651).

This sounds like another way for the "stealership" to pipeline dollars out of the buyers pocketbook.
They go ahead and add it to the window sticker, therefore the buyer must negotiate to have it removed from the price. If all buyers are as smart as T4R.org people are; then Toyota dealers will soon be removing this package from the window sticker.

It is a Toyota product. Has Toyota written all over it. It's also part of the package called ToyoGuard. I haven't used it yet but probally will in a few months. Even if you did not use it the dealer can't tell, and there are som many waxes out there that do the same thing.

It sounds like the "lusterizing sealant" is a polish and the "sealant cleaner" is a cleaner/wax of some sort. When you run out, you might want to replace it with some regular polish and wax instead of buying the Toyota stuff. It's probably more expensive and is no better than what you can get from Mothers or Meguiars.

That's exactly what I did... I used the "Sealant Cleaner" as a first coat cleaner wax and then put additional coats of Meguiars NXT on.
