I have a 2000 4runner looking to tap into my VSS wire... Anyone have which one it is with pics? :thanks:

It is going to be in the ECU under the drivers kick panel.

It will be the only blue/grey wire in the bunch.

It is in the V18 plug, number 17 on that plug. The image is rotated upside down from how you will see it.

i tapped the VSS on mine before it is behind the glove box. i forgot exactly which one it was i need to check again. i tapped mine because the old AVN 3543 need a VSS power source.

Thank you!

Thank you all for your post! @ Ripcord, running an eclipse AVN5510 navi unit. The unit freezes sometimes just running with the GPS antenna without the VSS wire hooked up. Same problem I had in my 06 Taco with the AVN6610 navi unit until i hooked up the VSS wire. Thanks again!

I am 99% sure I tapped my VSS wire behind my glove box... Perhaps they're different.

A green/orange wire in the highlighted 22 pin connector. It will be either position 8 or 9.

The ECM is behind the glove box, the kick panel may be easier.
