My 1998 4Runner has been a garage queen for the last 2 years or so and I'm finally digging back into it to get her into tip top shape.
I'm just about through my punch list but realized I've got an issue that's bigger than I thought.
The drivers side master switch has never unlocked the doors. The passenger side does.
I pulled one out of a parts truck and realized it does the same exact thing, so it's likely the truck.
I pulled the kick panel and knee cover down and found evidence of a prior aftermarket alarm.
It's been removed, but there are a few wires that have been tapped (with the tapped connections cut) and are just hanging and there was an aftermarket relay.
Near the steering column, I found one cut OEM wire--green and black, which had a relay in the middle. I removed all the aftermarket wiring, soldered it back together, and... nothing.
I removed the T taps and soldered the OEM wiring back together but it still won't unlock from the drivers door. What the poop?
Anybody able to offer any assistance here? Thank you so much!
