Vent Visors = Wind noise?

Has anyone noticed any annoying wind noise caused by wind deflectors? I'm not sure if that's what's causing it or not, because I currently have weathertech vent visors installed. Seems like the obvious culprit but I am curious if anyone else has noticed the same thing.

at those speeds (55+) id say for sure.... i guess it makes some sense since they do stick out a little bit. also, mine are WADE brand & in-channel...

Mine are in-channel as well. I also think they have stretched the area and have caused my windows to make a slight rattle inside my door panels.

I know a BMW mechanic. He hates the in channel wind deflectors. He says they always screw up the window seals, then the owners bring in their vehicles wanting the dealership to fix the rattle, leak, etc.. He doesn't understand their appeal and wishes that nobody made them.
 
One of the reasons I've always not minded the stick-on versions.

Mine don't seem any noisier than without but I also liek them since it allows me to have the windows cracked all day and not have to worry if it rains.
 
The wind noise is exactly why I took mine off after I bought the runner. After a week of having them on the wind noise drove me crazy and I had to crank the stereo on the freeway just to drown out the noise. As soon as I took them off I noticed a HUGE difference.
 
Josh if you take them off will you let me know if there is any remaining rattle or excess road noise since they are in-channel visors. I have the same vent visors and I can't decide whether to leave them on or take them off.

I have the same one's the "in-chanel" and when I took them off they made no noise at all. It reduced wind noise by A LOT when I removed them. I can actually stand to drive on the freeway without having to turn up the stereo to drown out the noise.

I took mine off today. I cranked it to about 70 MPH on the street today to see how the noise was, and it seems to be much less. I'll have to wait until I get to drive on the freeway before I am sure though. It's taking some getting used to without them, because the windows look much bigger with them off.

Haha weird huh? It's like your windows had big eyebrows on them, and you just had them waxed. :bigok:
 
if you realize there's still wind noise occurs after taking the visors off, try to yank out the whole channel and give it a massage when it is soft ( have it sit under a hot CA sun for few hours).

i was adviced by a toyota tech on my 2nd day having the in-channel visors and that sh!t really made tons of wind noise, so i had to take them out and got refund from dealership.

hope your channels are still have the flexibility to going back original shape, if not you will still hearing a little bit wind noise.
