Vent Visors

Has anyone tried the AVS in-channel Vent Visors? I read reviews on them but none were for a 4 runner,Tacomas and other vehicles had reviews...

I put these on about a month ago. I like them a lot, didn't like the idea of pasting stuff to the body of my truck.

There have been a couple finicky problems - window auto reverses once in a while, etc. Overall, not too bad. I would suggest putting some type of adhesive on the rear window ones though. Had one get caught the other day.

I have the weather tech in channel and I am very happy with them. IMO they look better and less chance they will get broken. But mine also would auto reverse the first day. I left my window up all night and the next day it worked like a charm. It also would stick up and not come down. A but of wax in the channel helped that

I had them, ended up returning them. I followed the instructions to a t and mine had a terrible binding issue.

I have the AVS'S on mine since 09. Haven't had a problem yet, other than scratches due to off roadding and cleaning. No issues as stated above either.

These were the first item ever bought for the 08 when purchased in 09.

Edit: I only have the side doors with these, all 4.

get the 3m ones.. cheaper and less of a pain.. I had in channel on my prior Yukon and they just plain were to much hassle. Went with 3m and never looked back.. Now also have them on my landcruiser and looking for a good set for the runner...

The only problem I had with the 3m type, they had problems keeping stuck on where you wish. They created bad whether to seep in between the seems, always around the mirror area/front, then hitting you in the face ( the rain). Had that set on my previous 04. No complaints with in channel and worth the xtra dollar for them on my 08 for the last 4 yrs.

i sell them all the time.

in channel looks great BUT laws of physics apply....two things cant occupy the same space meant for one.

that leads to issues with window funtionality.

personally, you want them then deal with the look of them stuck on the outside or deal with the windows giving you problems for a long time.

also apply it correctly and it will stick almost forever!

since our doors have a dark trim around it, its almost unnoticeable...well at least my car is

Urghhh, I freaking hate in channel visors. A lot of people love them. I honestly tried to make them work, but in the end, they gave me nothing but trouble. I installed the outside (with 3M tape) type visor and NEVER looked back. You install them and are never bothered by them failing on you. If they do, it's because the visor didn't use the 3M adhesive backing. That's an easy fix as it (double sided tape) is readily available at Walmart. I have Toyota OEM visors on my 4Runner.

The model that the OP has listed and in-channel are the ones I'm using, for 4 yrs. now. I have used to external ones also.

The in-channel ones have the 3m dbl side tape. They do work like they should if you install on a hotter day, myself installed and rolled the windows up all night. Works perfectly like they where designed for. Never interfered with the windows operation after, pealing off, falling out.

I had the AVS in-channels on my 03 and loved them. Only issue like others mentioned was if you hit the auto-up on the window, it would hit and roll back down. Otherwise they were great
