Viair 85P for under hood?

I have one of these and it works great. Plan to add a 2G tank, can this compressor handle under hood duty? Will it give in to heat and moisture?

I'm going to try and mount my masterflow with a 1 gallon tank.

I've been watching that thread. I don't really care if it's a 1 or 2 gallon. I'm not really expecting to remove a transmission on the trail with air tools. All I really need is the ability to inflate stuff. Rafts, tires, etc. Will the 85P turn to crap if it's under the hood?

Under the hood seems very enticing and adds to the utility of the rigs for sure. I almost did this recently but decided against the under-hood install.

After reading up on compressors and duty cycle and how to extend the life of the unit, it seemed that heat and dust and moisture were things you wanted to reduce as much as possible.

Those factors seemed to increase with an under hood set up.

Now if you really wheel alot a d would use it frequently, maybe it's worth the trade off for the benefits on trail with the air tank, air tools, etc.
