Recently (about 6 weeks ago) I had new tires put on. They are larger than the previous stock crossterrains. They are 285 michelin LTX AT2.
One the way home, I noticed vibrations. I also have spidertrax installed, but had those before the tires and had no vibrations. I had them rebalanced and that did not change anything. I installed a lift and then had an alignment done at Sears. The tech told me that they were aligned right on the boarder of the specs due to the fact that I lifted it without changing the UCAs, and he could not align it properly. He also said that it should not cause any vibrations. About a week ago I had tire kingdom rebalance the wheels thinking maybe I would get a different result from a different shop. I still have vibrations. They are in the steering wheel only, and only happen between 45-60mph 55 seems to be worse(speed from GPS since my speedo is off now with larger tires). I have heard that this is the spot where the tires will vibrate if not balanced properly, but with 3 balances I don't know why it is still happening.
Could I have a different problem (maybe a steering tie rod? or bad ball joint or something similar?) I guess I should bring it to a 4x4 shop since they must deal with this kind of thing alot more than Costco, Sears and Tire Kingdom do.
Any suggestions though?
