I was hit pretty hard by a big truck on my left drivers front wheel. My vehicle is a 2006 4Runner sr5. I was hit so hard that I had the knuckle and control arm bent. I bought one off a salvaged 4Runner that was being parted out. It included the knuckle, control arm, spindle and hub. I had it installed by a local mechanic and thought it was all good. One week later my left front wheel started vibrating and roaring when I went into a right curve. I put it on a lift and have play in my left wheel. Anyone know what might be wrong?

Yep, my boss wrapped our Ford transit around a pole and the bearing went out a few thousand miles after.

Yup, Wheel bearing. Don't just replace the bearing, make sure you replace the spindle as well. Since it was an impact that caused it to fail, there is probably some damage to the spindle, even though you may not see it. Get NEW wheel bearings and you can probably get a salvaged spindle, but make sure it comes off a salvage vehicle without front end damage on that side.

hey, did changing the bearing solve your problem?...i was also in a similar accident...now i have some play in my front passenger tire as well...jacked the car up and tried spinning the tire...it spins well..but the play is still there.......changed the spindle, and control arm as well after the crash.................pls confirm that changing the bearing solved the problem for you............cos my bearing spins freely now...no noise
