Vibration between 55-65 mph

I just replaced both bearings at the end of my 3rd member, the pinion seal, and the rear output seal of the t-case on monday. So I took my truck on the highway today for the first time in a little while.

As soon as I hit 55mph, i felt a vibration in the whole truck, and it went away around 60-65ish mph. It only happens when I'm gassing it, so it's not the tires or anything for sure, but something in the driveline. And it doesn't slowly get worse, it just happens on an instant when I hit 55mph.

I'm driving to TN on friday too btw:redbrick:

Any ideas guys?

Wait a minute... I also just made that traction bar 10 days ago. If my trac bar holds the axle straight, and it's not twisting up when I gas it, My pinnion angle stays pretty steep all the time. Could that explain anything?

Not that I noticed. BUT... I don't think I went over 45mph since I put my trac bar on sooo... hmmm

I think you nailed it right there.

double check the u-joints.
but, i would suspect a bad, or out of balance tire.

you can usually tell a tire vibration from a driveline, based on the depth of the pulse. driveline is usually a tight vibration, whereas a tire isnt.
but, ive seen some really bad drivelines, that felt like a tire, deep pulses.

also, a driveline vibe doesnt usually go away at a certain speed. that is almost always a tire.

I think if this is the problem you would notice the vibration at low speeds and giving it alot of gas to put torque on the rear end as well.If this was it why would it only do it at the heigher speeds?Almost sounds like a tire that is out of balance.

Yes. Unless you have a drv sft with a double cardan joint, your pinion should be pretty much horizontal (parallel with the ground).

Well thanks for all the input guys, I solved the problem! It ended up being a U-joint... yea I know right? I did nothing else but that and after i pressed out that stubborn old U-joint and pressed the new one in.. Bam, problem solved!
