I'm getting a vibration in 4wd on my 2000 limited. It happens on the road and at speed. I'm talking about awd/4 hi with the center diff unlocked. I have an ome lift, about 3 inches and 285 duratracs. There are no vibrations until awd is engaged and then it instantly begins vibrating. I'm assuming its the front driveshaft or front driveshaft u joints since that's the only thing that goes from stationary to spinning when awd is engaged. I yanked on the fromt driveshaft in all directions and didn't notice any play in the joints. It has just been greased.
Any ideas?
Could the u joints be bad and have no play? I didn't think they'd be bad since the rear shaft gets a lot more use and they're fine.
Could my diff drop be causing the vibration? Since it changed the pinion angle? I've read 2 different opinions on this...
