Vibration Problem

Agreed, Hunter equipment is some of the best on the market , and yes, we only get 4 wheel alignments on our cars. Our 4runner is a tade older(1990) then yours but with less miles(76k) but I found the rubber components(mounts, bonded bushings, etc.) were shot. They were so bad infact, the truck was really somewhat uncomfortable for people in the family to drive it. There would be driveline shudder, vibrations, and rattles upon numerous different behaviours. The truck would not track down the road worth a darn. I had replaced the front pads, rotors, and tires on our truck before and it just was not that big of an improvement. Yes, it helped but no slam dunk.

In my experiences, rotors being warped tends to be more of a pulsation than a vibration. I'd hate to say it, but once you know what warped rotors feel like when braking, you always know what that feels like. He is pretty confident that its not the rotors and Im guessing he is right about that. Warped rotors are so easy to diagnose because the harder you press on the brakes the harder and more frequent the pulsation becomes (notice I said pulsation, not vibration.) If everytime you brake, no matter how you brake its the exact same VIBRATION, then its most likely bushings or some other suspension component as you suggested.
Again, I do not know the original posters mechanical knowledge, but once you feel what warped rotors feel like, its not really the same as a vibration. Also, warped rotor pulsations dont just come one all at once. You usually notice a light pulsation at first that gets worse the more you drive.

how much does it cost to replace rotors? i feel a pulsation when braking, its not too drastic but i just thought it was the abs, also i was having a serious vibration at highway speeds (60-80mph) and when i took it in for inspection they found that the rear shocks were leaking internally? anyway they replaced them and havent had a problem with them yet.

Yea i had the same problem with my 2000 4runner, the problem was is that the rotors were too long so it was causing the vibration

Well, I did the brakes all around and still have a slight vibration. I did the outer tie rods also. I think the problem is the bushings on the control arms. Has anybody replaced those?
Or, it could be ball joints.

Well, I may have some insight into this issue...I just spoke w/a buddy of mine that also has a 3rd gen (2000 limited) and had the same vibration problem. He spoke w/a manager at the Big O tires out here who states that it is a common condition on 3rd gens with factory wheels (keyword: factory wheels). Apparently a normal wheel balancer will not properly balance them. You have to have a LUG-centric (as opposed to hub-centric) wheel balancer with a special adapter on it. As soon as I can I'm gonna go and have this done and report back. Keep in mind I've had my tires replaced, balanced (twice) and rotated (twice) and had a four wheel alignment trying to solve this problem!
Now if you've replaced your rims and still have this problem, look elsewhere. If not this may be the solution!

I had the same virbration problem on my runner, warped rotors got a quote from toyota dealer 120 a pop. haha
Went to pepboys got a set of duralast for 110 and installed them myself - easiest I've ever done on a 4runner. Also got a torque wrench and returned day after. Driving for over a year now without vibrations, on top of that the duralasts have a 2 year warranty, so guess what I plan on doing in a little bit, you're right - get a new set even though mine are good, just in case.
