Video-In With JBL Nav?

I have the JBL Synthesis with nav. The manual says the OEM changer is able to read and play DVD's...which would lead me to believe that the LCD should be able to function as a monitor. Is there a way to hook up and use this LCD screen as a monitor with a video-in connection for use with a rear view camera or from another video-out source?

I believe the DVD reference in the manual is to the navigation DVD used to store the map data. However, I have saw a kit that would allow you to do what you're looking for. Best I can remember it was $400-$500 bucks, definitely not worth it when there are so many aftermarket options out there.

Hmm..yeah, if it cost that much...the only real plus to going that route is being able to keep the OEM equipment/look. But, it isn't that important to me.

I can buy a whole backup camera system with monitor and dual inputs for half of that. Finding a clean way to mount the monitor becomes the challenge then. (I'm a bit OCD when it comes to details) :biggrin2:
