Hey all
There's this damn squeak I've had inside my cab now for some time that I've only recently gotten to tracking down but it's recently taken an odd turn, I'll post a video so you can hear what I hear - the video makes it sound quiet but it is pretty decently loud and very clear, enough to be heard over the radio.
The sound was definitely coming from the interior and sounded to be from the trunk, if not near the rear passenger seat. Oddly enough it never happens right away, only after maybe 10-15 mins of driving, but every tiny little bump in the road sets it off and is quite annoying. So over the course of a couple days I tackled pretty much anything that wiggles: sprayed silicone into the hinges of both seats and checked the bolts were tight, folded them down for good measure, took off the little side cargo door in the trunk, removed all my gear, buckled both rear seatbelts, even put some tape around the trunk latch to help it lock more firmly - but the squeaking still came back. Thinking it might be a dry poly bushing I tried rolling down the rear window yesterday, and suddenly it stopped and all went quiet... once I rolled it back up it stayed silent for the rest of the drive (about 10 minutes). Tried it again today and got the same result.
Anybody know what might cause this, or does it sound familiar to anyone? I'm aware of how to access inside the hatch but I'm not familiar with the little mechanism and arm that lifts the glass - if I had to guess from my experience something is worn out and the glass is not being held up as firmly as it should be(?) Sounds like a stretch to me but it's all I can come up with. Quick google search doesn't return anything similar. Let me know your thoughts.
