Every time this picture comes up I grab the armrest on my chair.

Beautiful, but

This is from a few years ago as you can see by the dashcam time stamp, but I got hit by a golf ball while passing a golf course. It landed on the roof between the roof rack rail and the top of the door and left a small scuff in the paint. It did leave a skid mark in my pants tho, as I didn't see it coming. That was one f'in loud bang when it hit! I had to rewind the vid several times before I saw the ball in flight.

It's not quite as close to the edge as that pic makes it look. But it is a big drop.

Well as my ballooning buddy says, a two story fall will kill ya. Higher than that and you get the advantage of a little more time. :)

Spectacular country - where is it?

The pics above are partway down the Shafer Trail. Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands NP, near Moab UT.

This pic is in the Needles District of Canyonlands, in a narrow section of trail near the Devil's Kitchen campground. Wider vehicles have left plenty of scratches on the rock walls. It's very narrow, and then you go over some rocks that tip the truck to the side some.

Was coming home from work when a bird (either a pigeon or seagull) decided to swoop down across the lanes. When it hit, I watched the windshield flex in a good amount but it didn't crack. Sounded like someone hit a bass drum.
In the second pic, you can actually see a dust print of the wing from the impact.

Took a drive around the Palos Verdes coastline with my wife today to get out if the house.. Always enjoyable doing some coastal cruisin in the 4Runner.
