Vinyl Hood Wrap?

Stuck CAPS

New member
I currently have an '04 4runner SR5, and I've gotten a couple scratches on the hood. I'm on the fence of getting a vinyl hood wrap, but I'm not really sure on if or not I should do it, because my truck's white. I was thinking about getting it black, and getting some black rims when I get new (mud) tires. Opinions please?

The scratches must be pretty nasty, have you tried to buff them out? IMHO a black hood on a white 4th gen looks like an unfinished repair.

What he said. Panels come primed black from the factory, so it will look like you were too cheap to properly paint it.

but your profile picture looks like you've got a black hood on a white 4th gen...

As was already said I have a hood blackout which covers only the center section of the hood. I like the black & white combination but not an entire part being black as I stated.

If the OP's scratches are in that section I'd highly recommend a blackout. I think it looks good but my wife hates it. :p

I'll plasti dip that and give it a try.
I'll come back with results.

Although mine isn't white, I did plastidip and blackout a section of my hood to reduce glare from my lightbar. I now see myself putting stuff on my hood more on the plastidip and it has held up fine. I think I have sind pics in my thread
