In doing some research on future mods I stumbled across these guys:

Viper 4x4

So has anybody ever heard of or done business with these guys?

I'm a little torn on the product itself. There are some design elements that I like and some I could live without.

I reached out to them for a quote on a bumper and some sliders and they got back to me very quickly. Quote looked like this:

Bumper: $1440
Sliders: $536
Subtotal: $1976
Promotion discount (20%): -$395.20
Total: $1580.80 (before shipping)

From everything I've seen they're right in line with or better than most products I've quoted price-wise.

Just thought I'd share since I don't ever see them mentioned on the forum. What are your thoughts?

looks good, It's cool there using Steel A36 but im assuming its thin though because they call out the bracket thickness @ 1/4" but not the bumper plate thickness, I tryed to find there slidders but didnt have any luck where were you seeing there slidders at? and i couldnt find any prices on the web page as well so im guessing you spoke with someone there about there products, did they give a thickness call out on the bumper plating? With the research I've done I'll probably go with shockworks or demello and just have it sent to me without hoops or finish for like $800. i can weld on hoops if i want and the company i work for has a place we can source powder coat but i'll likly go with a bed liner material. an i just ordered up 4xinnovations slidders a week ago but they seem to be taking there time to get here paid $220 with shipping and DOM upgrade, i got there slidders just cause they seem to use them and they seem to work, plus once again they're shipped unfinished so i can weld them on how i like and add any extra plating i feel like. I can offer up my welding ability to ya superman we still need to get to uhwarrie before it gets to hot!!

Looks like bro bumpers to me.

Haha... yeah, guess it suits specific tastes. I think there stuff looks pretty good on the chevy's and fords.. Even the FJ on their site looks sick!

I'm assuming it's 3/16" plate or under since they mention "lightweight". Pretty sure that's what Demello uses too and I think Shrocks' is a 1/8". The sliders and prices are not listed. I just emailed them for the quote. They didn't mention the thickness on the quote but I think the total weight of the bumper is 110# so just figure. It looks like the 2 popular choices among forum members are Shrockworks and Demello and after doing my research I'm leaning toward Demello myself for a bumper and sliders. I like the look and that it's lighter weight than the Shrockworks. Also, there are a lot more Shrockworks bumpers on here than Demello, so it's a little different. Not to mention price. I'm gonna do like you on the sliders though and order Demello's DIY kit and finish it in bedliner.

Appreciate your kind jesture yet again on the welding brother. It's one of those things that I've been wanting to learn forever but just haven't took the time to do. Fortunately I've got access to a wealth of talent when it comes to welding and machining. I'm fortunate in that aspect. I was going to design my own bumper, but just can't seem to find the time to do it.

The more I read your posts the more similarities I'm seeing between you and I. We're both Mechanical Engineers, our trucks are both white, V8's with black wheels and identical grilles. And now I just read one you posted about your wife driving a mustang and working nights at the hospital. Mine owned a Stang before she got the Honda and she works nights at the hospital as well. Crazy!

Anyway, I was trying to go this month to Uwharrie, but the wife has to work every weekend except this coming one. I can see if she want's to head up there this weekend though. Would you be down for that?

I've got new CV axles that I've got to put in, but That can wait.

It's been discussed here before but no one has ordered from them yet.

Yeah Matt, when I searched them a couple of links that you posted came up, but never found any real good discussion. Maybe somebody will pull the trigger with these guys.

@ superman that is crazy, def alot in comon lol. and i think my wife's looking into a honda or another better gas mileage vehicle lol. I'm open for this weekend, my wifes off friday and saterday night so that should work fine for us. if you want bring your CV's my buddie mike and Cj just rented out a 6 bay garage right down the road from Uhwarrie with two lift bays if your interested. it takes like 15 minutes per half shaft. I'll see if the ol ladies interested most of the time she just sends me out by myself lol maybe having another nurse out there will give her a little more motivation lol. I get off work at 4 on friday you wanting to gear up an camp out for the weekend or just a day ride?

I never realized shockworks was only 1/8" on the plating I think ill def. lean on the demello bumper for the 3/16" like you said to lol I've been planning on designing up my own bumper as well we have a CNC plasma and press brake in the shop i just cant make the time to do it an i know the first bumper will come out rather choppy lol.

Let me talk it over with the boss. Looking at the calendar, I just realized it mothers day weekend, so she'll probably want to spend time shopping and visiting with the moms. If we came it'd definitely only be a day ride this go around, but I'm definitely down to bring the dogs camping one weekend when we've got time.

That's pretty sweet about the garage, but I was gonna wait until I get my rotors and pads in and do it all at one time so I don't have to get in there mutliple times. Probably won't switch them out until next month.

I got that backwards on the plate thicknesses. Demello = 1/8" Shrockworks = 3/16", 1/4", and 1/2"... sorry.

Like you though, I've got some access to a CNC plasma, but I fear it'd be to rough, I know plenty of folks that can do laser and waterjet work for me, but it'd be at a cost.

lol, i checked on the thickness to after i posted and saw that, thats probably why theres so many shockworks bumpers out there i know i want atleast 3/16" thickness so im still stuck on shockworks lol.

I forgot it was mothers day this weekend to damnit lol that means sunday ill be stuck with all the family. so I'm def. up for a day ride saterday just let me know. if you wana wait for a full weekend i def. understand im game either way yo.

Cool man, I'll let you know. If the wife and I can swing a full weekend it probably won't be until next month. But maybe I can make it by myself or bring a bud. Hell maybe just me and Baxter (my avatar) could head up.

I'll keep ya posted.

sounds good, i try to avoid the trails after june just cause of the dust issues it even gets hard to breathe out there sometimes lol. but yea man bring anybody you want i usually head out with my two buddies i mentioned earlier they both run older jeeps they give those things hell to lol we can def. make a convoy out of it whenever!!!
