I just had the viper remote start installed on my gf's SR5 and now shes saying her phone doesnt automatically connect anymore. It has always worked before but now she has to connect manually. Is this a coincidence?

I just had a Viper installed and no issues with bluetooth.

Damn, i dont feel confident bringing it back to the installer without some info. Ive confirmed its the remote start causing the problem cus if i start the car manually the bluetooth connects automatically right away.

Sounds like an install issue.

Did you you pay to have it installed? Then why wouldn't it be an installer issue and why do feel the need to research what a professional should know or fix? They (the installers) have their own resources for those type of issues.

Sounds like something going on with the bypass module. These modules offer a pretty seamless way for intergrating with the factory security on newer vehicles but often times they are far from perfect. I would suggest trying a different module (same part# just different module). If that doesn't work, they may have to switch out the module for a different one altogether. The shop that did the install may have to do a little research to find one that works correctly.

Just hoping to find some ammo to go in there with. Its just a PITA having to leave my car there while they spend 10hrs researching.

yes. I think it is installation or module problem. i had my Viper installed last week on my 2011 SR5 and everything (including BT) is working perfectly. i wish you all the luck in resolving this issue! please post your findings/results so that other people benefit from this experience.

Bluetooth

Thanks for thw info.

Can you please update us with your findings once they play out? I have a remote start on my T4R (Code alarm) and actually had some issues with that whole piece up there (bluetooth, shifter light, and dome lights going out) I thought it was the LED lights I installed, but I haven't been able to rule them out yet as I'm waiting for that part to arrive so I can install it. Can you confirm if it's only your bluetooth (and not the shift light or the dome lights) that went out?

Thanks,
