Visual differences between 2nd Gen T4Rs.

I was passed this morning by a later model 2nd Gen T4R. Somewhere along the way, Toyota switched to the oval logo.

So, it's pretty easy to identify a first, second & third gen 4Runner. Is there a good way to tell different year 2nd gens apart, though? So far, the only differences I've noticed is logo change and a rear air deflector added somewhere along the way. Anything else?

The spare tire was moved underneath the car in like 91..?
Aero headlights were added in 92.

I personally like TOYOTA on the grille instead of the oval emblam.

Nope - my '90 has it underneath.

I also have a 1990 and the spare tire is underneathe.

There's also a wind deflector thing on the back.

I think there are some differences in the front grill, bumper, signal lights skid plate on the different 2nd gen t4rs.

sure they did

I think the biggest change was between 1991 and 1992. The front bumper, valence, headlights and grill were all changed.

Sometime in there the third brakelight was added to the roof.

One easy way to tell the year of a 2nd gen is the graphics on the sides.
