Volant Cold Air Intake

Fo_Sheezy, I know you had one in your '02. How was it? Easy to install? I really want one but i just don't want to take my filter out one day to discover i don't know how to put the intake in and have an undriveable car. haha

Anybody else have one? How is it?

I've seen decent horsepower gains but the Volant is pretty pricey just to have a nice box to look at when the hood is up when the ISR silencer removal and deckplate mod with a good filter will do the same for well less than half of the cost of the Volant.

Burtman Industries sells the Volant for 259.99 while they also sell the K&N for 229.99. I like the volant box, but i also want to save money.

so RON, are you saying i can buy a performance filter and remove the silencer so it'll sound like a cold air intake?

Yeah it was pretty easy to install and it sounded badass! That intake along with my flowmaster 50 is what I loved the most about my 02. I would definitely get it.

haha fo_sheezy, your enthusiasm is fueling my will to get my wallet out yet again.

alrighty then...next paycheck im devoting some of it to an intake. haha.

but another question, i want new exhaust and i was debating whether or not to get a Cherrybomb. what flowmaster fits the best? Cherrybomb is only $99!

I did the deckplate mod, added a better filter, and then put on a cherrybomb. I'm happy with the decisions I have made. I would personally save the $150 or so and spend it on some tint, LED interior lights, or some other mod. I got my Cherrybomb vortex for $60 shipped. .

Cutting a hole in the airbox makes the intake sound a fair amoutn louder under WOT.
The deckplate just pretties it up and allows it to be closed back up for water crossings or state inspections or simply reuturning it to OEM appearing.
