I see you also have the volant CAI. I just installed mine and must also say, Volant sucks ass! Was your system annoyingly loud? Im thinking of yanking this thing out and putting the stock system back on!

its supposed to be loud....the stock system does a really really good job of quelling the intake howl of the AIS (accoustic intake system) of the V8. Surprising it is because my GTO makes no additional noise with the Volant in versus that of the OEM intake.
I like the induction howl that the Volant provides, i just dont like the fact that I had to send back my order 2 times to them and on the third time, I finally just said screw it and redrilled holes in the bottom of the box that seemingly Volant couldnt do properly.

I recently installed the Volant intake for the '07 5.7L Tundra. It came with the PowerCore filter. The PowerCore is an amazing filter. Its hard to describe the construction, but instead of using a thin sheet to filter, it uses a honeycomb media to filter the incoming air. It's kind of like a strip of corrugated cardboard rolled up into a big cylinder, and it pulls air through the honeycomb matirx made at the ends of the cylinder.
At first, I was wondering how well this thing filtered so I held it a couple inches from my face and blew gently and I could feel the breeze on the other side of the filter (~8 inches) like the filter wasn't even there! I then took my Maglite (with super bright LED bulb) and shined it through one side, and all I could see was the faintest glow from the other side...It's pretty revolutionary, plus it comes with 100,000 mile cleaning interval, pretty bold if you ask me.
If this filter is available for the intakes on the 4Runner I highly recommend it!
