Voodoo Offroad Recovery Ropes

Has anybody used these Voodoo Off Road Recovery ropes? I was thinking about buying one, but for $65.99 that seems like a lot of money for some tow straps.

I was looking into buying the same type rope they use and just making my own. Splicing rope is pretty easy. But so far I can't find the rope for a decent price in a small amount. So honestly buying the rope by itself is very close to their sale price.

And if you are looking at the 1/2" size that's too small for a 4runner

Ideally from what ive researched we need something around 28000lbs breaking strength

That isn't a tow strap. It's a kinetic recovery rope. Very different things.

The VooDoo Rope, as well as other brands of kinetic recovery rope are pretty cool. One downside to them is the pack-ability. The ropes don't exactly roll up nicely. My advice may seem biased but the standard style recovery straps like we offer are much easier to deal with. I keep two straps tightly rolled up (Flat material rolls/folds together nicely) and stored in ammo cans. They are super strong, and have the ability to stretch under load to absorb shock and help snatch a vehicle out of a stuck situation.

I bought an ARB one and used it this past weekend. Loved it and it fits perfectly in an ammo can with some extra shackles.
