I don't know how to make a poll so I started a thread....
Want votes and/or opinions on my tire choice for my 2010 TE.
BF Goodrich M/T km2 ......or..... Toyo Open Country MT
Keeping stock 265/70 17's size and they would cost me the same.
I have not had the BFGs, but I went through two pairs of Toyo MTs on my 3/4 dodge. The Toyos are great tires. My Dodge has a 1100 pound Motor up front, and I was able to get 50,000 miles out of the first set and 45,000 out of the second set. I am pretty sure that you can only get the Toyos in E rating, not that it is a bad thing. They perform really well off road, but I was really impressed with the snow traction. The downside is the price. I just priced a set of 265/70/17s at Les Schwabe. The quote was a little over $1,400. I think you can get the BFGs at Costco for $1,000 or less.
I couldn't hear the tires over the sound of the motor and exhaust, so I don't know how loud they were. Are the toyos quieter on street? They look better!
I have a couple pics of trails from other members who are running them. I will post later.
The KM2 are like motocross tires for your truck. They hook up like crazy in rocks, mud, clay, sand, ... didn't go in any snow.
Have about 20K on mine, looks like they will make 30K, but not much more.
You can hear them ... but then all MT are loud.
They look pretty cool too.

MTZ's or ATZ's?ATZ's are all-terrain and not mud terrain. BFG AT's get well over 50k miles too. I have 20k miles on my KM2's and they are less then half worn.only 30k?! Wow. I have around 25k on my ATZ's and I have at least another 25k left on them and I drive rough on them.
