VSC and "02"

Camprunner

My "06" V6 4runner the other day threw the engine light and the VSC light at the same time and they both stayed on. I took it to the dealer today and they say I need a new "02" senser? The problem im having with this is why would the "02" senser effect the VSC? Why would the VSC light even pop?

I think that Toyota designed it this way to get your attention. Maybe with just a check engine light most people would ignore it. With multiple warning lights you are more inclined to look into the issue

For example, on my 92 Camry, when the Alternator went out the Brake,Charge, and Oil pressure light came on. In theory, only the dis-charge warning light should have come on. I have had many other Toyota vehicles with similar results.
