VSC mod done.. CDL light is on ..?

I have completed VSC mod over the Christmas time, obviously it is great option to have, but I am surprised to see that my CDL light is “on” along with VSC light when my “VSC mod” switch is activated. I know for sure that CDL is actually not locked and it appears that VSC is “off” (more testing require :D), but after reading many “VSC mods” posts my understanding was that on V8 models “VSC mod” works like factory “VSC off” option: when switch is “on” only “VSC off” light is on and not CDL…
Can anyone with 2005 V8 and with “VSC mod” confirm dash light operation for me? Is there a difference between pre 2005 and 2005 and up 4Runner “4wd” electronics? Anyone has schematics for 2008 4runner with factory “VSC off” option?

i think that is normal. the "mod" fools the ECU into thinking that the Cdiff is locked, when it really is not, so it makes sense that the CDL light will go on.

There seems to be some variation between the years as to wether or not the center diff. lock lights up. On my 2005 V8, when I activate the VSC off, the CDL lights up as well but the center diff. is NOT locked.

THANK YOU!
I had a feeling I am not the only one with that result on 2005 model.
