VSC/TRAC/CEL lights after checking Fuses

This all started when some one put a cell phone charger in the front power outlet and it fell apart and the metal shorted out the power outlet. I searched for the bad fuse with no luck. while looking for the bad fuse I had the key in the ACC and ON position at various times with some thing plug in to the outlet to see if it would come on while changing various fuse. NONE of the obvious fuse helped the power out let problem.

Well in the process of all this I cause it to throw a CEL which in turn causes the VSC/TRAC OFF lights to come on also. I can tell you after a short drive the systems are really off!!! Tire spinning Fun!!! for now.

1. Does any one have any ideas about the power outlet??? I have not torn it apart yet since it is dark out now. 7:30 pm ET

2. Will the CEL and other lights go out after a period of time by themselves if the computer does not see the "fail" any more.

3. Will Pull the Battery cable over night reset the CEL???

Thanks any help would be great. I would hate to make a stealership trip for this since I have almost 49k miles and the "Bumper to Bumper" warranty in gone.

Access to the power outlet there is super easy. Open up the center armrest and pull near where the handle of the armrest was.

Does the cover of the fuse box have a diagram of what fuse is for what item? I don't remember and it's late to be digging around the truck.

unplugging the battery cable should reset things and is always a good troubleshooting step if you ask me.

If you can get yourself a fuse tester you may be able to find the culprit.

Ya I have changed the Radio out a couple times so I have seen it appart. Just to late to be messing with it tonight. I have a Fluke 87 meter at work. Just need to borrow it for a night. The fuse access cover does have a diagram and the obvious ones on it were all good. I even checked all the fuses under the hood. I think that is where I caused the CEL. I even swapped a couple just to see if it was not visually bad.

I will pull the Negative cable overnight. Hopefully it will go away.
