Vsc trac off light

I have 2004 4runner . The VSC TRAC/ TRAC OFF lights remain on.As well as engine light. I had this problem many years ago. Before I brought it to the shop I put gas in it. At that time I noticed I hadn't put the cap on properly. A day later the lights went out. Today I'm having the same problem . This time lights are staying on . My husband put in a code and the lights went out for a short time. I thought gas cap as before. I put in gas in but did not fill. Today I filled to the top. Made sure cap was on properly. Hope this works. I'll let you know.
