vsc Trac Off/ MAF sensor CLEANING!!

Ok....I know nothing about working on vehicles. So advise me in a manner of cleaning the MAF sensor for dummies. The VSC Trac light, the Trac Off light, and the check engine light has been on for months. I have been told by various sources that I need to clean the MAF sensor. I need a step by step manner of how to do this, pictures would help.
I had my 2001 4Runner hooked to two different diagnostics machines. One said, it was the MAF sensor or the O2 sensor, the other said my plugs needed to be replaced. I am looking to sell the vehicle soon and hoped this would be an inexpensive fix. I must note that the front end is shaking quite a bit but it may just need an alignment.
Please help me out here!!

That helps out some bootown, but I need a little more detail as I look at the engine, i am not seeing exactly where the sensor is located??? I do appreciate the response!

I don't have my truck right now to look at, but I think that hose is supposed to go across to the charcoal emissions canister behind the battery. Is your's just hanging loose and not connected to anything?

Ok, remember you are educating the official nonexpert on these things. How much we talking about? Apparently it still runs, because there is no telling how long I have been driving it like this. Toyota dealership will cost a fortune. What is the hose called, and what terms do I research on the net to get it fixed. Your help is VERY much appreciated. I plan to sell this 4Runner and have to be honest when I sell it. Provide me with any info you can BooTown...it means a lot!!!!

OK Boo....one last question....you have raised my curiousity about the "do it yourself" with epoxy. How would you go about doing that? Just give me a general idea of how you would do it yourself. And again, you have been a blessing!
