VSC with new tires

Hi,
I drive a 2005 4runner V6 SR5 4x4. I just bought a new set of Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor LT265/70R17 tires and had my alignment corrected. On the way home from the shop my "VSC Trac," "VSC off" and wavy car lights all came on and stayed on. Now every time I stop and restart the car, the lights stay off for a few minutes and then come on. Also, I can spin the tires (so the traction control is disabled).

Is there some reason that I can't run these heavy tires on this car? Or did something with the alignment go wrong? Any feedback would be helpful.

Only because I've seen this happen: Confirm the tire size and pressure on each tire. Then, with a tape measure, measure the overall height of each tire. I have seen 4 new tires, properly sized according to the labels, have different diameters. Upon further investigation one tire was a "made in Japan" the other three were "made in USA".

Late model Isuzu Troopers' ABS is very sensitive to height and that's where I encountered the tire deal.

If the problem is tire related diameter is the problem, not tire weight.

I've got new 285s on mine and my lights also came on. Did the zero point calibration and vcs works and lights are gone. Very simple to do yourself. I used a Christmas ornament hanger, or u can use any scrap piece of wire and follow directions, and in a couple minutes your computer will be reset with VCS working and LIGHTS OFF.

Where did you get the instructions for the zero point calibration?

Do a search for Zero Point Calibration on this site. I think the thread is called "One cause @ Fix" and the reply from FALKON will give u a link to the TSB, It will give different ways to fix this, Page 7 @ 8 of the TSB i used, follow that. Like i said i used an ornament hanger, paper clip, or any scrap wire. I put one end of the ornament hanger in the Ts slot and used the other end to short and open the Cg slot. when u get directions u will know what i mean. YOU CAN DO THIS YOURSELF and it will save you lots of money. Have any Questions let me know. GOOD LUCK.

Thanks for the info. I tried another sokution that I encountered while doing the search. I disconnected the battery for an hour. When I reconnected it and powered up, the problem was resolved. My guess is that this forces a reboot of the vsc system and restores all of the defaults. In any case, it all seems to be working now.

Hmmmm. I put a set of GY Wrangler with Silent Armor on my '07 Sport and have had no problems at all.

Interesting predicament.

I tried disconnecting the battery also but it didn't work for me. I'm glad you got it fixed bro.
