I always like the way the Jettas look...but i always hear bad things about them in terms of reliability/durability. Yeah, if VW can improve the reliability, then i think that it is one cool car to have! VW knows how to design a nice looking car...can't say much about their SUV design though!

i dont like the SUV designs either. But we have a few problems with them but it was all minor stuff, and the pros of that car certainly outweigh the cons. But it was a family car for the last 6 years and after 220,000 miles its in better shape than most other cars with that milage.
Some of the interior stuff is a little flimsey and the electrical is ok, but he'd buy another in a heartbeat.

We have an '02 VR6 GLX
- wonderful car to drive. fast and economical (31-33mpg when the princess drives it)

- the traction control is smoother and less restrictive than the 4Runner and it doesnt completely kill the power when a wheel slips. It can be turned off for red light acton :driving:

- only major problem was a stall condition fixed by me when i located the chafed wires.

-radio, coils and brake switch fixed under warranty - no more problems

- window regulators have extended warranty protection, and have not broken since the original repair.

- the underside is in better shape (less rust) than my 4runner

VW makes a quality product. They tend to throw new technology into their cars quickly which is a major source of their problems. If the problems can be fixed and not return, I can live with it.

Mine isnt rusting at all, and the driver lock doesnt work, the remote lock doesnt work, only the front passenger door turns the interior lights on, the sunroof shade is stuck off its tracks, the radio wont pop out, e-brake doesnt work (our fault), glove compartment lid is held on by 1 piece out of 4, and the center console top is broken right off it now slides when u mover your arm. But the rest of the car is a lot of fun.
