Wait for 6th gen 4runner?

I really want a 4runner as my next car. Should I wait for the 6th gen? Would be nice if they add a power rear liftgate, push start, ventilated seats, and dual climate control for the trail premium and TRD.

I would! It does not hurt to wait especially at this stage.

I just cant stand the new front end of the 4runners. I thought it would grow on me, but it has not. If for some reason you do not like the 6th gen you can always purchase a left over 2016-2017 5th gen. Usually the last year of a model year is the best to buy since all TSB's and all the little issues are resolved and are heavily discounted since new gens are rolling in. In the end you are buying a 4runner which is one of the most reliable vehicles out there. So it purely comes down to looks!

... I heard it was already a done deal that it would come with a 3" lift, supercharged 5.7 L V8, 35" tires, Lexus 570 interior, manual transmission and ride like a Cadillac on the road and handle 110 mph desert runs with no problem.... annnnnd, it's only going to cost 17,312 list!!!

Don't tell anyone.

Do you know if 37s will rub?

No. There is a small bag of Unicorn Horn powder in every glove box that takes care of any issues like rubbing, thunks, leaks and squeaks. Just sprinkle a bit on the fenders and body mount and they mold to allow tires to fit. Honest. I read it on the internet.

You should do whatever makes you happy and worry less about what people on a forum think...

but since you asked.... all these features (minus the liftgate since it swings) are available on a GX470 and standard on a GX460... you'd spend 10-20K less) on a used vehicle and get just as capable of a vehicle, as it's Prado based, plus a V8 which surely will NOT come on the 6th Gen 4Runner.

I obviously understand that it's just wild speculation at this point, but do you guys think there could be a legitimate chance of an available V8 in the 6th Gen?

I'd say no chance. The 3.5L in the new taco plus a 6 speed should be around 300/300. Pretty close to the current 4.6L with less weight and better mpg.

If we're lucky, we'll get the 8spd auto. For me that is my #1 wish list item. #2 is smaller size.

Is this the actual concept or what the 6th gen will look like??

I am in the same boat....trying to decide if I should go ahead with a 2015 model purchase or wait for the 6th gen.........

Land Cruiser... you can get one now for a cool $80k starting price... $90k is about what I've seen them on the lot for.
