Waiting...and waiting...and waiting

I ordered on October 6th and thought, based on what the dealer was telling me, that there was an outside chance that my truck would be on the December allocation list. Not so.

They're not optimistic about the January allocation either, so it looks like I'll get it at the end of February. Yeah yeah, I know, good things come to those who wait...

At least my wife was thoughtful enough to give me an early Xmas present of SAT radio for my car. Got the portable Audiovox unit that goes with Sirius, the thing rocks. Much better than XM.

Oh well...still holding out hope for January...but the wait is pure torture.

its a roll of the dice. I ordered mine in Oct. and was told it would take at least 90 days to come from the factory. One showed up in the mean time a few weeks later. Luckily I didn't have to wait too long. Had mine for 4 weeks now and love it.

gaslight is right, roll of the dice, it may come sooner than you think. I remember gaslight crying the blues, saying his truck would never come, then all of a sudden, one came in. Have faith, your truck will come in. By the way, gaslight posted about 100 times before his truck came in, so don't be a stranger here.

I really didn't want to special order, but I wanted a Limited 4X2 with NAV and XREAS, and Toyota apparently doesn't produce that combination except in special-order cases. Since I had to order anyway, I got the side-curtain air bags, spoiler, dd cargo system. I'm sure I could have found a 4X4 V8 with those options, but didn't need that.

No big deal, I can wait :

You think that's bad, I ordered in May, and just picked it up on Friday. over 7 months later. I wanted the V8 4x4 Limited with X-Reas, which apparently, was not available in So. Cal, except by special order. By the time I got my order in, Toyota had stopped taking orders for 03s, so I had to wait till the order window was open on the 04s. I'm actually glad it took so long, because now I have an 04, not a first model year, and it has the improved hitch.

BTW, this is one heck of a machine!

I feel your pain. I ordered Oct. 31 and I won't get it until mid to late February. The reason I had to special order was that I ordered a V8 Sport Titanium 4wd and I wanted side curtain airbags. The airbags were an option on the Sport, but they just didn't build them that way. Say I'll basically have to wait 3 1/2 to 4 months before I get it. It sucks, but I think its a good vehicle. Also, if rebates come out i'm betting they will be out in that timeframe.

Coolpop, you'll get it but you really sure you don't want the 4*4? think about resale...

I've got an 04 Limited V8 4*4 with XREAS and NAV, damn it's sweet, got it on Halloween, already put 3800 mtn miles and love the thing.

But, the reason I'm writing: can you give more info about the Audiovox unit that goes with Sirius? I'm looking into sat radio and I don't like what I see with XM units so far.

It's a relatively new unit by Audiovox, I think it's the PNP2. The great thing about it - it's wireless. Plus, it's got a bunch of presets, a dimmer, timer, favorite song scan...da bomb.

And Sirius is commercial-free.

Seems we could use a new thread dedicated to satellite radio. I'm in the mountains in CO so radio is not an option. Wondering if reception is an issue in the mtns. have you had it long enough in your 4runner to attest to it's reliability in reception?

Opps, oh yea, your waitin on your 4R.... what about any other car?

You never know how it will turn out: I went to the dealership on 12/30/03 and learned not only do they have one that fits all my requirements but I could take it home that day.
