Walker Exhaust?

So my exhaust used to have a few leaks; the leaks seemed to have been strategically placed to the point where it actually sounded pretty good. Now they have grown to be loud and obnoxious. I've been searching around and found the Walker Quiet Flow SS. Does anyone know anything about this system? I was going to go ahead and replace the catalytic converter as well as the tailpipe while I was at it. Mine is rusted like no other. I got everything all priced out at $500, including the gaskets and other extraneous things. My questions are...

Is it actually quiet? I don't want it to be much louder than stock if at all.
Is it directly bolt in?
any problems associated with this exhaust?

Thanks in advance, Jordan

I put the walker quiet flow on a couple months ago. Bolts right in if the bolts aren't rusted. haha. I cut mine off and got new bolts. Hour long process.

It is a quiet system. Just a bit louder than stock after it has broken in. Can't hear it with the windows up and there is no drone.

Need to replace the muffler on my sisters '97, and was thinking about going this route as well.

What is the part number for the muffler you guys are using? All i need is the muffler, nothing else.

Make sure that shop gives you your cat back. That thing is worth some money. I just took a landcruisers cats to a recycle place and got $150 for the set. LCs have 2 side by side cats.

I've never heard of anyone running that system so I can't comment on quality. I would like to know how much the cat is on that system because I was thinking of getting a magnaflow....idk

I'm in too. I want something that flows better than stock but kinda quiet.

CJ80cruiser, I will be doing the work, and I will probably keep the cat. Thank you for the tip! I didn't realize how valuable they are.

Quickslvr, the parts diagram I have been going off of is this:

Walker Exhaust Info

Rockauto.com is the cheapest place by far that I have found to carry this exhaust. Also there are a few promo codes for 5% or 10% off floating around on line.

quiet flow

I had to put on a new muffler to pass inspection this feb.--the garage talked me into a magnaflow and it was way to loud (couldn't hear my radio and the puppy hated all the noise and droned like hell). The guys are at the garage treated me fair and we ended up putting on a Walker quiet flow. It is slightly louder than stock but doesn't drone and with the windows up I notice no difference from stock. With the windows down you can hear the difference when you are on the throttle but doesn't sound like a fart muffler like some after market mufflers. I can't say anything about any hp increase but I'm glad when I drive by people are looking at my sweet truck and not hearing me first. I'm happy with my Quietflow--I hope this helps.

Thanks to this post I just ordered a new catback Walker SS exhaust. The other day I was driving to the lake as usual and noticed the truck sounded a little throaty from stops. The bolts that connect the muffler to the tailpipe rusted away and broke. The flange is still there but looking a little rotted. I figure what the hell 175,000 miles the truck deserves a new exhaust. I was hesitant to switch over to a magnaflow after reading that one post about all the issues, and I didn't want to ruin the ride of my daily driver. My Volant intake gives me all the sound I need when accelerating. :driving:
