Wallpaper anyone?

I was twiddling my thumbs earlier, so I revamped one of my photos and make a quick wallpaper for myself.

I made it in 800x600 so I can share it, but it fits any resolution as it has a flat white background.

Since so many people seemed to like the image, hopefully you'll use this, I know I'll be using it for awhile ;):

Looks very nice. Here in Atlanta it is going down to 16' F, just curious what your temperature up there?

In response to the temperature, tonight it's forecasted for -49c... that's -56f for you yanks.

Yes, I am serious, that's not a typo. <b>-56F</b>!

One thing I won't forget, which taught me a good lesson. A few years ago I was unaware of the severity of the temperature outside, it was about -80 celcius (<b>-112F</b>) which includes the windchill, I was outside with a poorly protected head for about a minute and a half give or take, my nose went numb so I rushed inside as fast as possible. Turns out I had gotten a mild case of frostbite on my nose.

Now whenever I go outside in weather like this, I make sure I'm bundled up nice and warm.

Welcome to Northern Canada. ;):

Do they make a windshield wiper fluid that won't freeze at -56'F? It is too bad you don't have a garage so the 4Runner could be a warm -45'F or so.....

I am completely baffled about those temperatures. I don't want to sound insulting but what could possibly make you want to live in a plce with extremes like that. I mean -112 degrees???????? What the hell do you do there? How's your heating bill? The thing must run constantly. Bundle up????? By the time I got done bundling up for that weather I wouldn't be able to move or see.

I'd feel like I'd have to hibernate because I don't know why or what I would go out in that weather for.

Do you have one of those remote car-starters?

PS-

Send some of that white stuff to the ski areas in Pennsylvania. That's were we here in Virginia / Washington D.C. go.

<b>peter</b>: Yes, they do have washer fluid for winter, it's mixed with anti-freeze I believe. I don't use the stuff, I just let my summer fluid freeze. The only time your windshield gets dirty is when it's warm out, so I don't see the point in it myself.

<b>toybox</b>: I consider myself lucky to live here. It's all worthwhile when summer rolls around. Ever looked at a Yukon map? Whitehorse has a population of about 22,000 people or so. The rest of the towns divide the remaining 8000 people or so out of the 30,000 people in the entire Yukon. It's nothing but untouched wilderness up here. The cold isn't as bad as you might think it is. I work outside a fair bit, and today I just wore a ballcap, a t-shirt, 2 sweaters, and a pair of jeans. It's a totally different type of cold, because the air is usually very dry. It kind of bites and numbs exposed skin instead of chilling you right to the bone. Heating bills aren't all that bad, as they build houses to be economical in the cold with tiny windows and insulation up the wazoo. I have hot water running through the floorboards, so it's nice and cheap that way.

<b>mp5bravo</b>: I have been up and down regarding the command-starters... I'm still young, so I don't mind waking up, tossing on some clothes and going outside to start the truck. I just can't justify the price tag ($800CND approx.) for a luxury item like that. I do admit, it would be nice at times, but I have better things to spend my money on at the moment.

That means you have to heat the air over 120 degrees Fahrenheit (from outside temperature) just to make it chilly in the house!! I think I'll wait until summer to think about visiting. I hope it's what we in the South would call "warm" then. ;):

no longer will i complain about it being too warm here in central/south florida in the winter... awesome pic btw
