Want a bigger motor

I own a 95 T4R. Unfortunately i have the wonderful 3.0, but it has done pretty well for me. I got the truck in January of 09. Had about 230xxx miles on it. I currently have 271xxx miles on it. And haven't had any problems with it except for a knock thats in it thanks to my wife. Was gone for a month and she didn't pay any attention to the oil... The truck still runs as good as ever. But I would like to put a V8 in it. I'd like something like a 305 in it, but looking for an easy install where I wouldn't have to do much cutting and chopping. If anyone has any suggestions?

I think that most guys have either done a Ford 302 or Chevy 350 conversion. I haven't heard much good about the Chevy 305 engine as far as perfomance goes.

The easiest thing to do would be to sell your old 4runner and buy a newer one that comes with a V8.

Well the thing about wanting a bigger motor isn't so much about getting a new truck as much as it is about getting more power. I love my toy. And with the 3.4 V6, would that mount straight up to my tranny? Cuz I don't really have much money to play with here. Making new motor mounts wouldn't be much of a problem when you have tons of redneck friends.

95 Yota, it wouldn't make any sense to put a Chevy 305 in it instead of a 350 unless you already owned the 305 engine as it's the same physical size on the outside as a 350. The Chevy 265, 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350, 383, 400 (did I miss any?) are all the same size. If it were me I think I'd go with the Ford 302. It's a very small width V8 engine on the outside and you can get plenty of power out of it for the Toyota.

The 3.4 uses the same trans and motor mounts as the 3.0
