Want new 4runner... 6cyl or 8cyl?

Buy what feels best . don't let gas milage between the decision. They both get the same milage , but in certain situations thee V6 will have a slight edge and in other situations the v8 will have an edge , so its really a wash. They are only rated 1 mpg apart.

I drove both , loved both , I also at the time liked the 2wd selection switch on the V6. After purchasing the v8 full time 4x4 I love it , handling is fantastic , and what ever you encounter whether heavy rain , standing water , snow patches or snow storm its always right there .

Another deciding factor was the smoothness and quietness of the v8 and the torque curve is real nice and smooth and always there when you need it.

The other factor when debating was my wife , who reminded me that you like power and you'll wish you got the v8 so get it !!!

This is a helpful thread...I'm wondering the same thing and this is helpful. Since my co-worker has an 04 V8 model, I guess I'll start by checking out his and seeing how I like it.

i (incorrect grammar intentional to add additional emphasis to all caps word to follow) LOVE being able to switch frow 2wd to 4wd. A lot of times...all you need is 2. Coming from a 4cy Accord, I barely have to tap the gas pedal on my Runner to get it moving...but, if I had to do it again...I'd go with 8cyl, just for the extra power!

Not sure what model and year you are looking at, but the '07 SR5 V8 I got came with power seats and frame hitch standard.
