want to add a 1' leveling kit along with 3 inch coil over in the front

I know this has probably been addressed on the forum before. I thought I would ask any way. I have a 3inch ultimate front coil lift with 3.5 all pro rear springs and shocks, 1 inch body lift. I'm currently running 35 inch tires. what harm would come if I add a 1 inch leveling spacer lift? any assistance would be appreciated. thank you.

4wd? CV shaft binding, some people have had luck with machining the cups down but at some point it becomes a lost cause. If you want more lift you'll need custom setup or bracket style 6" for an FJ.

2wd? Probably just arm angles, keep jacking the LCA and UCA downward with the same height spindle and you'll run them into the coils plus they aren't designed to run that way. Get lift spindles instead.

Wow, that's a lot of lift!

As blackout said, your CV angles will be pretty extreme (but your garage says you're running a front diff drop, so it might not be that bad...).

Biggest issues will be coil to UCA clearance (they'll hit each other in droop) and front end alignment (hope you like not having caster!), both of which can be fixed with aftermarket UCAs (more room for the coil + additional caster built in).

look at mine, its what i have. although my coilovers have been lowered to ~1.5-2" with a 2" lift spacer on top. i also have a 1" diff drop in to help with the CV angles. if you wanna run 35s id suggest a 3-3.5" worth of suspension lift with a 1-1.5" body lift. you will have to cut and pound your fenders and pinch welds.

I did bang out the pinch welds. They are were I'm rubbing. I thought the 1 inch would solve the problem. Pluss I only hit the welds on the driver's side.I will add the spacer and see what happens. Drives me crazy we do all this work for a capable 4wd vehicle. But guess that's the fun of it.

just adding more suspension is not gonna solve your issue. its just gonna have the same issue as you compress the suspension. instead of adding 1" to the suspension you need to do a 1" bodylift. or tub your fire wall which involves cutting and pushing the fire wall back. adding 1" more suspension could also introduce more issues such as CV breakage, and alignment issues.

He says he's already running 35's and a 1" body lift in his first post. Options at this point would be downsize the tires a bit, up the body lift size, keep cutting and pounding to get rid of rubbing, or add the 1" suspension lift and prove us all wrong! I got CV bind when I added a 1/2" thick top plate spacer (1" lift) on my 5100's set at 0 with 885 springs and a 1/4" spacer driver side for the lean (so ~3" lift + 1"). Couldn't even run it down the street without binding so I had to lose the 1/2" thick top plate spacers.
