Want to get new rims, options here

I like the look of gun metal rims...does anyone know of any good ones? I dont know if I should stay with the stock 17" or go up to 20". I do off-roading on the beach and drive in a good amount of snow in the winter so need a size that I can still have a decent off-roading tire. I really want the bridgestone dueler A/T Revos...so I guess if i could find a set of 17" rims it would be perfect. I am lookin around but wanted some insight from here...thanks in advance

if you're gunna go offroading...i'd stick with 17's. black rims do look nice. i prefer black with polished or chrome lips for added contrast.
 
Black on black would look really good. I agree, if you off-road, I would stay with the 17", maybe an 18" but not if you do haevy off-roading. If you are just sticking to the sand I think it would be fine. If you get a nice set of rims, I would get another set to use during the winter when the roads have all the salt on them. We don't really ever have the salt problem here.
 
you guys know of any other black rims, all i have seen are the allied ones and ones from american racing? I am probably gonna stick with 17", thanks for the help
 
you should check out the TRD 18" rims for the 4runner/seqouia... they look REALLY sweet and they come with the michelin cross terrains so you can still go off road. you can get them for ~$1800 shipped off ebay

they would be my first choice if i were getting new rims
 
Have you seen THIS thread yet? Those are probably the sweetest rims I've seen......which isn't that many.....but anyway, check 'em out.
 
This is goin out to anyone with more knowledge about rims than I have (which isnt much). I went to a truck shop to see what rims they had and I saw American Racing Mojave which come in 17"x8" so figured they would fit...well the guy said I would not be able to turn with those rims on there because they would stick out more since the center core (or whatever its called) is in more it would cause the tires to stick out too far which in turn would hit while trying to turn. From the way I look at it there is plenty of room there now with the stock rims and I do not see the AR rims causing that much more of a problem. This shop is a good off-road shop near me so I "assume" the guy knows what he is talkin about, but i am skeptical because I really like the rims. Any input would be appreciated. I am goin with the American Racing Mojave Rims, unfortunately they are on backorder but I don't mind waiting...and I am complementing them with Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo's...I may have to trim some of the wheel well in the front due to the rim sticking out 1.5" more than the stock rim, so we will see, will update when I get everything

This may be a stupid question, but I don't know the answer and would like to.

I'll eventually be upsizing my tires on my 2004 SE. It already has 17" rims.

If I'm mainly interested in off-road stuff, don't care for (and won't pay for) bling for bling's sake, why should I get new rims? Is there any REAL benefit? I can see if maybe I wanted to get a much wider tire, but what if I want to stay just slightly wider than stock?

I do like the looks of some of the ones I've seen, including the American Racing rims above. But other than looks, what do they buy me?
