want to spray paint my emblems

hey everybody, i really want to spray paint my emblems matte black, i also want to do the front toyota one, but i have no idea how to get it off, has anybody taken it off and can throw some advice my way. also what is the best spray paint to use? i see alot of plasti-dip. maybe i should go that route?

alot of guys on here have gone with plasti dip and it looks great. I did all of mine with bed liner as it was easier for me to get and i was doing other things aswell. the emblems are all easy to get off- the front on in the grille will require you to take the grille out, its held in by two screws. The rest can be done with dental floss and a hair dryer. The rear toyota emblem(circle one) has two spots on it that actually go into the door panel. use dental floss on either side of it(prongs are in the middle) then just pull on it. It will pop out.
If you go the plasti dip route you can leave them all on. Look it up on here you'll see how its been done. it peels right off, so just tape off as close to them as possible and then have at it.
Paint wise thats your choice as to what to use, I used just a cheap krylon on my wheels and then clear coated them at it looks good. i would sand em down a little or atleast rough them up so it sticks better before you apply paint. Give it a couple days due to the holiday Im sure some others will chime in. Good luck.

yeah i just checked out palmetto4runner and he plasti dipped it and i think ill just go that route. as for the wheels, i have the tacoma trd rims, and am definentley planning on spending time on them this summer and getting them painted black, because i really don't wanna fork out the cash for powder coating! haha but thanks for the advice man!

Just a tip if you're interested, if you're all about saving time, then go for the Plastidip. You'll get just that, flat black.

Keep in mind that there are all sorts of modeling paints available, and with the extra time and effort, you could end up with a nicer product than just Plastidip.

No prob, you'll like the plasti dip, imo it looks really good. I did the bedliner just because it was easier for me to get and i was doing my bumper anyway. I hear ya on the price for powder coating too- i got a quote for 150 per wheel- i spent maybe 20 bucks, didnt even take my tires off and they turned out nice. Just sand them really well then hit em with some thinner or de-greaser before you paint them and youll be golden..

and yeah i just want mine to look way badass for now until i get money for new tires and a lift! haha another thing i hate about my 4runner is the chrome bumpers, but reading up on painting those, and that doesnt work out too well -____-
