As it sits now my t4r has roughly 6" of lift. I'm clearing my 35's with no problems. This lift is achieved by a 4" suspension lift, plus 2" spacers in the rear, and the torsion bars cranked up a little up front. What I don't like about the way it sits now is it sags a little in the front, and I'm not big on the idea of torqueing the torsion bars anymore. So I'm thinking the only way I'm gonna even out the stance is to add a small set (1" or so) bj spacers up front and loosen up the torsion bars some.

But this also crossed my mind, ditching the spacers in the rear, loosening the torsion bars back to around stock, and just running with my 4" lift and moving down to 33" tires.

I'm buying new tires in January, either another set of 35's, or 33's. Depending on which route I take. Right now im leaning towards adding a set of bj spacers to even out my stance and keeping my 35's. Will bj spacers work ok with my 4" lift? Ive never ran them so im clueless about them. Which route would you guys take?

On my last rig i went from some strange sort of dealer installed lift (long story) with 33" A/Ts then did an add-a-leaf and ball joint spacers. I then upgraded to 35" A/Ts. I was running with a moderately built 22re and stock gears and to be honest I enjoyed my rig a lot more on the 33"s. It wasn't due to a lack of power either as I could still run 95+ on the highway with the 35"s. I would just do the spacers with 33"s and then un-crank the T-bars to get a better ride. They are really not bad to install, just a little grinding and you're good. Just my .02

Remove spacers in the rear, lower front torsion bars. Install 35's and grab a saw and cut away any body panel that has anything to say about your 35's!

So how often, under mild/moderate trails, would the extra 2" of clearance come in handy? Thats my biggest holdback of going with 33's, it just doesn't seem right giving up those 2 extra inches haha. I wheel my runner pretty often, but not on extreme trais.

I never noticed mush of a difference wheeling between the two, besides 4lo being not quite as effective with the 35"s. I liked the look of the 35"s, but I'm pretty sure it was mostly the wheels. I figure if it comes down to that 1" of clearance...well it isn't anything a slightly different line won't fix.

If you're doing the tire math I think you are, watch out.

Technically, a 33" tire only has 1" more ground clearance than a 35". The hub is in the center of the tire. It'll get your rig's axles, and everything else, 1" higher off the ground. The other 1" is going to getting your tire closer to the wheelwell.
