Wanted: Rear Bumper Cover

Just wondering if anybody has a rear silver bumper cover that they want to sell. I know many of you like to replace it to match your body color, but I like the look of the silver and need to replace a scratched one. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks.

for $60.00. However they do not come painted. Not sure if that helps you or not.

I will keep you in mind should I find a new one.

(scratch and very slight dent are hardly noticeable, but still bothers me). People who don't know its there would not notice.


Anybody know how much it would cost to have the stock part painted the silver color?

Thanks for that link and yes it totally does help. My next stop was going to be to research how much a new one would be.

So, I have this idea to chrome plate them. I don't want to use mine because I want the flexiblity of taking the chrome ones off if I ever upgrade to a runner with 4wd and the more powerful V8. I wonder how much it would cost to get them chromed. What do you think of my idea? It will match my chrome door handle covers that should be arriving Tuesday.

Luxury ... I'm actually just getting the front bull bar. I have to agree with you about the look of the rear bar. I'm not too fond of the way it looks. To me it almost looks out of place there especially how it hangs on the sides. Besides, I don't do much parallel parking for it to make a difference. If I lived in a major city where all I could do is parallel park then I would consider getting it just for the protection.

Nope, definitely not.

Last night I removed one of the clips that holds it on and it seems like it will come off super easy. I think I am going to buy a "clean" non-painted piece and get that chromed. It will cost a little more, but it has several advantages:

1. If I don't like how the chrome turns out I can easily revert back to my original silver.
   
2. If I get in an accident, and my car is totalled, which seems to be going around, then I can remove it and put it on my new vehicle
   
3. Or, I upgrade someday to the more powerful V8, 4wd, and XREAS, I can take it with me.
   
4. Minor Advantage: I don't have to be without the trim for a while.

THIS LINK should help at least Californians find a chrome shop. There are other states too, but I was focused in on Cali.

Roughly estimating, off the top of my head, that the rear piece is ~6"x36" I called Sharon P. at Chrome Tech Inc. (714-543-4092) located in Santa Ana. The process that she uses to coat the rims with a hard chrome would not work on plastic. But the process used to coast the center caps (plastic) would. She out sources that to a company that does Vacuum Metalizing. She asked the guy and he said $110-->$160 depending on the existing finish and what associated sanding would be required.

There would be no discount for several of us doing it, as she already gets a small bulk discount from her vendor. She was nice enough to say I could drop by the part and she could get an exact quote before I decided to proceed.
