Warn Backup Lights - Trailer Power ?

This is what I did....
Wired to the TOWING BKUP light circuit.

Purchased from ebay: 18w 6INCH LED WORK LIGHT BAR FLOOD

They make a huge difference at night looking thru tinted windows and also lots of light when looking at BU camera!

Wonder if u do a direct wire from the battery if u even need a relay. Also what amp fuse u would need, 3 amps?

They would draw approx. 3 amps (+-), you could maybe use a 5 amp fuse.

If you do that, you will be running all current draw thru the switch, I prefer using a relay !

Yeah I guess I forgot to mention i would be using a switch. But want to confirm if I should use a relay for something so low in Amps.

If you use a switch that has a LED or bulb in it, I think it will burn the LED/Bulb if you run it without using a relay and some sort of power source (IE: Reverse Light) as a trigger for the relay.

You could possibly get away without using a relay if you ran thru a switch with no LED/Bulb..... but you better fuse it and it should be a good switch!

Question, why are you against using a relay?
You are still going to pull a 12V lead to one side of the relay or the way you want to do it... thru the switch and onward to the lights.

It matters not to me how you do it, but I use a relay whenever possible if I am going to use a switch.

I replaced the 2) 18W Epistar lights back on 05-28-2015 with these Rigids 35W SR-Q2 Wides
They are angled to each side, last picture is directly behind the beam.

How did you attach your lights to the bottom of your bumper?

Also, do your lights only come on when switching into reverse or do you have a switch that will turn them on independently?

1) There are factory fasteners that attach the rear bumper cover where you see the lights attached, I used those.
2) I have them come on when in reverse, I chose not to incorporate another switch for them. That can be done if you desire.

Lighting is awesome.

I would like to put some on my roof rack in the rear to eliminate the chance or ripping them off, but not sure how to run the wires on my '17.

Any advice?
