I just wanted to post this up as my experience and opinions with the WARN Multi Carrier. I went with this, so I can have a winch available for any vehicle instead of having multiple winches. Anyway I googled and internet info'd it, and the WARN seemed to be the best/strongest built. No question they make great winches. I do not have the ability to look before buying so I ordered one up and it arrived today.
WOW WHAT A SERIOUS CHEAPLY MADE POS!!!! If this is supposed to be one of the better carriers...holy cow...WORTHLESS is the word that comes to mind. Take the connectors/cable out and this thing costs about $200 and a 10k winch! Very thin metal is used all for all of it 3/16", hitch mount is two piece welded together with OD of 1 16/17", no gussets, and partial welding. Yes, I know welding does not require full beads along some items. It needed multiple additional areas of welding for full strength. The stinger size allowed for 3/16-1/4" of movement. I tried 3 receivers with the same results!
It's going back even if it costs me a re-stocking fee! I'm going to make my own!
