Warning sounds not working

I want to apologize for being a newb and not finding my particular question in any of the forum (tried searching...no luck) and probably will ask a couple of dumb questions.

My 3rd Generation Toyota 4Runner (1996) stopped making alarms (warning signals) that I left my headlights on. It used to but not anymore. Anyone know how to fix this?

Also in a somewhat related topic, when I turn on/off the car's factory security it rarely makes the sound that it is on or off. It only flashes it's lights and I can hear the door unlocking/locking.

I'd like some of these features turned back on but don't know what to search under. Thanks in advance.

Is your dome light coming on when you open the door? Sounds like maybe your door triggers aren't working.

You know what...now that you mention that....it does not. That would make sense now. How do I fix that?

New door light trigger. It's in the door jam on the A pillar (by the latch). It looks like a push button with a rubber boot over it. Just unscrew it, cut the wire, and splice a new one on. I got some new triggers a while back from a junker for $1 each.

Not sure, maybe. My key fob ran out of batteries 5 years ago and I threw it in a drawer so my alarm stays off.
