Warranty coverage/ aftermarket ?

So i'm pretty sure my front driver side wheel bearing is bad, i'm starting to get the humm and feel it in the steering wheel. Now i have a certified warranty up 100k or Oct of next year so i should be good.

Already just in speaking to the lady i asked her if replacing the wheel bearing would be covered under warranty and she said she wouldn't know until they had a tech look at it and make sure it is in fact a manufactures defect and not some other element that may have caused it to go bad, So i'm concerned already by just speaking to the lady on the phone that their going to say they don't want to cover it do to the aftermarket stuff i've done lift,spacers,etc Of course i'm stupid i wouldn't go in there trying get this covered with my wheel spacers on i would def remove them before hand because i know with these things they look for any excuse not to cover it under warranty but then my 4 runner is still lifted is that enough for them to deny me coverage of my front wheel bearing?

I just wanna know so i don't have to waste my time dicking around with them and leaving my truck there all day just for them to say Ohh sorry we can't cover it when i could have done it myself in the mean time! Of course saving the money helps. Any thoughts or feedback from experience would be appreciated..

I wonder if wheel bearings would fall under wear & tear item and they would deny you? If they need to be replaced go thru the warranty hoops, but in the end if you have to pay it isn't the end of the world. Both my front wheel bearings died at about 100k miles which seemed about normal when I asked a few years ago.

The dealership advisor. Would have to provide concrete evidence that your lift spacers or wheels where the true cause of the failure. You can always try calling Toyota customer care and simply asking them if the bearing is covered or not.

Like these guys are saying, it is definitely worth a shot. It's always mixed stories about certain items getting turned down for warranty due to a suspension lift.

If you don't try the answer is already no. If they turn you away and you need a complete ready to bolt on assembly let me know :trophy:

Yo yo yo! Are you sure you're wheel bearings are bad? I thought mine were and replaced them including the hub and I still heard the same humming noise I heard which made me think they were bad wheel bearings. I'm 99.9% sure that my tires were the culprit. Put it up on jack stands and turn the wheel. If you hear a lot going on in there, maybe it is them. I changed mine out about 10k miles ago or so, when I replaced the brakes. Could just be the tires.

Thanks guys appreciate all the feed back! I just ended up getting the bearing assembly and i'm going to go to my buddies shop and press the old hub in it pretty fix! I could of got the whole hub assembly with the bearing and all but that would of been almost $300 and the bearing assembly was only $90,,, I would of tried doing the whole dealership thing but just figured it was easier this way to just get it done rather then taking the to remove all my wheel spacers and have to put them back on as i don't have access to all my tools and stuff in the city...
