Hey all,

I was just quoted the following Toyota Extended warranty for an 06 4Runner:

6yr/75000mile Toyota platinum plan = 700 plus tax
6yr/100000mile Toyota platinum plan = 940 plus tax
7yr/100000mile Toyota platinum pan = 1080 plus tax

All plans are figured with 0 deductible
Whatchya think? I put a lot of miles on my vehicles!

The prices you mentioned are pretty close to what I paid last November when I bought a 1 year old 2006 limited. When I purchased my warranty, it was called a "wrap" as it took the Toy Certified Warranty and made the vehicle warranties bumper-to-bumper. The dealer said that when buying a used vehicle, as it sounds like you are, you can only buy the Toyota extended warranty at that time, not later on as you can if you had bought the vehicle new. I remember checking with another dealer to see if I was being played, but the other dealer confirmed that what I was told was true.

With all the electronics on these cars, not a bad investment. And remember if you sell your Runner while warranty is still in effect, it can be transferred to the next owner for a $50 fee. If you trade your Runner in, then you can still get a prorated refund.

I'm a bit confused by your message. I already purchased the vehicle back in July. The same Toy Dealership is now (and has been since) offering to sell me an this extended warranty before I exceed the 36,000 mile limit on the existing warranty.
