Warranty question

This is for nothing in particular on my 4Runner....but I bought mine from a used car dealer...not a Toyota Dealer. It only has 42k miles on it.

My question is can I take it to any local dealer to get WARRANTY work done if needed?

I wasn't sure how they would treat a Toyota owner that didn't purchase a vehicle from them. Hopefully I won't have any work done, but just inquiring.

Thanks

Yes, any Toyota dealer will honor the warranty whether you're the original owner or not. No problem.

The bumper-to-bumper has expired on yours - it's 3 years/36000 miles.

The powertrain warranty might still be valid unless the age is an issue - that's 5 years/50000 miles.

Thanks...so it looks like my powertrain is still good for another 7k or so.

Will Toyota let one purchase an extended warranty plan from them?

On a used car, you have to buy an extended warranty from a Toyota dealer at the time you purchase the car. (That implies you have to buy the car at a Toyota dealer.)

On a new car, you can buy the extended warranty as long as the bumper-to-bumper warranty is in effect.
