Went to dealer to get an oil change & since I am almost up with my warranty, I had them check a few things, including driveline clunk, which is a little bothersome. Found out all shocks & struts need to be replaced. The service manager said he had to call it in and Toyota was sending out someone to look at it. This was 2 weeks ago. Yesterday I took it back in for the inspector. He found out the shocks & struts do need to be replace, but he could not duplicate the clunk (my response was how could he not). Anyway, they don't have all the parts & the Xreas shocks are on backorder, due in next week.
My main reason for this post is this. My warranty is up on 5/31, so my concern to the service manager was that I wanted the repair to be still covered under warranty, even though the repair will take place after the warranty is up. He said it should because the parts were ordered before the date & he was leaving the ticket open. Should I be concerned? Anyone else have a similar experience?
I would hate to have to cover the bill for this repair.
