Was bored so I put stripes on

Put big stripes on a Miata a few weeks ago and had some leftover vinyl. In retrospect I think I should have stopped the chevrons at the flare rather than going all the way down, but for what is probably going to be a temporary thing, it'll do. Next week we get to tow said striped Miata to Ohio so maybe the look will make more sense then.

I agree with the apparent photoshopping comments, but trust me they're on. Droid phone + late afternoon sun + high contrast colors = apparent shop.

I'll drive it around like this, no problem there (I've been driving it with the big TIRE RACK banner on the windshield for the last couple weeks). On the plus side we don't drive this much.

This'll be on the trailer, maybe the whole package will look more tied together once it's complete?

3 weeks ago I was at Willow Springs and the car pitted next to me loaded with stickers. After seeing his lap times and talking to another driver was told he bought the stickers and was not a sponsored driver. Not sure of the logic in doing that? Guess he thought all those parts companies needed his help to advertise or something.

Tire Rack sponsors all the "serious" SCCA autocross competitions, and all the cars are required to run the windshield banner. I figured I needed some practice putting one on and had a banner lying around. The wife said I couldn't put it on her car till we got to Toledo, what else was I going to do?

It might get a chuckle or two out of some folks. If not, no big whup.

Hey man, I like it! Sure you could have stopped at the flares or used a color matching your paint but who is to say what looks good? I will tell you that if I thought painting mine special pink with yellow dots and purple lines is what my heart desires then thats what I would do. Unfortunately nobody else has to live with it except me. Keep on going!

I was going to send the picture to the SCCA lobbying for a new class "Truck Stock". Just in case there were people interested in going r e a l l y slow for a change.

Talk with SkylineGTRracer, his 4th gen is quick and i could only imagine it courners well. I think he might have some autocross(?) videos in the 4th gen section somewhere.
