Was my fluid changed ?

Was my transfer case fluid changed if they pulled the transfer case?

There should be a section of your repair paperwork that states what was done and what materials, parts, fluids, etc. was used. Also in there should be labor hours, charges, for each operation and who did the work. Parts and operations covered by warranty should be documented as well. If you didn't get a comprehensive report; then I'd go ask the service advisor. They should have a record of what was done to your vehicle.

It was done last summer I bought it this spring. I was going to change it but wondering if they changed it when that warranty service was performed. So I guess my question should be can you pull a transfer case and not drain all the fluid?

It's possible, as the transfer case is sealed independently of the transmission...different fluids in use. I'd remove the fill plug and inspect the fluid color using a white pipe cleaner (bent 45deg).

I’ll do just that , good idea.

If you’re going to do all that, just change it. You have to get to it anyway. 2 extra minutes to remove drain bolt and fill with new.
