I work in Spokane but live in North Idaho. I moved here in 2013 form SoCal and wouldn't go back for nearly anything.
I lived there for two years before moving to Colorado Springs in January. I, for the most part, regret moving from Spokane.
Coeur D'Alene
-Just go down to the resort and take a walk down Sherman. lots of touristy things to do. Maybe take a boat ride tour around the lake (it has a bar on top)
Selkirk Abbey brewery is my favorite.
Post Falls - Not much here but the Post Falls Falls Park is cool.
Liberty Lake - Go to the county park and take a look around. You can hike as much as you like.
Spokane - Plenty to do, just hit up trip advisor or yelp.
Find some decent group of friends and never leave. I regret leaving as that place is cheap cost of living, beautiful, and for the most part quiet.

If you are outdoorsy you are in the right place. Ski, fly fish, whitewater kayak, climb, mountain bike, paddle board, kayak, it's all there. Check out Mountain Gear on Division St, one of the top outfitters in the west. Grab a paddle board and head to Lake Coeur D'Arlene. Canoe the Little Spokane River. Check out the Bowl and Pitcher feature on the Spokane River, maybe raft it. Lots of good restaurants and pubs downtown too. Check out Palouse Falls near Spokane. There's a weekly run out of a local pub downtown, can't recall the name. I live on the other corner of Washington but I get over there every chance I get. My wife and sons went to school there.

We just got back from Spokane for some house hunting. We found a place and LOVE the area. less than 30 days and we start our cross country journey.

We have seen the Pitcher and Bowl. Sampled several of the restaurants. We are just a little bit of foodies. We cannot wait to get back and explore more. I am from the west side originally. Well I should say that is where my dad retired from the Navy at. I was also stationed at Fort Lewis for several years. I Love Washington.

Hey congrats on the move into the Spokane area. Ya definitely tons of stuff to do around here. Along with Bowl & Pitcher/Riverside State Park, I'd recommend checking out Mt. Spokane and some of the hiking and mountain biking options up there. As for restaurants, Wisconsin Burger, Waddell's, The Flying Goat, Elk Public House, and Frank's Diner are some local favorites that I'd definitely recommend. Green Bluff is a great area to get some awesome local produce for cheap and has tons to offer for family stuff. Have fun!
